a rather royal pair of cats

"This is one of my most recent paintings. Martha, the cat on the right, is a cat owned by my friend Debbie's mom. I did an earlier portrait of Martha ("Queen Martha") when she was a much younger and slimmer cat.
Jocomo's mother, Hobo, was a stray that I took into our home after discovering she was going to have kittens. Jocomo (the large orange cat) holds court regularly in our home.
The idea for this royal portrait was Debbie's. Martha likes to sit in the armchair in this regal pose. Both cats obviously live a life of luxury as can be seen by their size (Jocomo and Martha both weigh in at just under 20 lbs)."
